Appalachian’s People of the Planet Soccer Tournament
Kidd-Brewer Stadium
No matter where you go or what country you are in, you can always find one thing in common. It isn’t faith, language, or anything else like that. It simply involves a ball, a field, a goal, and a group of people. In most countries, this game is called football, but here in the US, we call it soccer. No matter what you call it, or where you play it, one thing is for sure: it brings people together.
Appalachian's third annual People of the Planet Soccer Tournament will be held at Kidd Brewer Stadium on the ASU campus on Sunday, April 5, 2008, from 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. This tournament will bring together ASU and local players from around the world to celebrate diversity on the soccer field. This year, players from U.S. and many countries across the world will play on the four adult teams. In addition to the adult teams, there will be soccer matches for youth boys and girls in U6(5,6), U8(7,8), U10(9,10), and U12(11,12) age groups. Also, children can register to carry small flags with the players before each game. All players will receive a custom-made jersey and a medallion made for the event. Thank you for supporting this FREE event by participating.
